Kids and TV
"Other than a child's family, there is no force
today which influences behavior as powerfully as does television." So says Dr. T. B. Brazelton, author of Touchpoints (see
the accompanying list). Dr. Brazelton recommends limiting a child's time in front of the television to one hour a day on weekdays
and two hours a day on weekends. He also recommends that parents actively watch television with their children for half that
time, so that TV becomes a social activity.

Working with your child's school and teachers is very important. Here I'll
share some examples with helping children navigate issues such as homework, bullies, and test anxiety.
